Downtown Development Authority

Purpose: The general purpose of the Authority shall be those purposes stated in Public Act 197 of the Public Acts of 1975, as amended and Bedford Township Ordinance No. 80. The Authority shall have the jurisdiction over the Downtown District as established by Bedford Township Ordinance No. 80, or as may be amended from time to time. In short, the Authority is trying to enhance and promote the well being of the Downtown District for both the businesses and for the patrons.

Membership: Board consists of the Chief Executive Office and eight (8) members. Not less than a majority of the members shall be persons having interest in property located in the District. members shall be appointed to serve for a term of four (4) years, except that of the members first appointed, and equal number, as near as is practicable, shall be appointed for terms of one (1) year, two (2) years, three (3) years and four (4) years. Non-paid board shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses.

Meetings: Meets the second Friday of each month at 3:00 P.M.
