AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT (ARPA) ADVISORY COMMITTEE
On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) which established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund. This fund provides $130.2 billion to local governments nationwide for COVID-19 pandemic recovery assistance. Bedford Township is estimated to receive approximately $3,358,081.
We are currently forming a temporary ARPA Advisory Committee. The purpose of the committee would be to come up with a list of projects and/or purpose that Bedford Township can use ARPA money for. This committee will also oversee the gathering of community input. Once all the information is gathered, they would present this information to the Bedford Township Board for approval.
This committee will be a non-paid committee. They will meet approximately once a month, or as needed. The majority of these meetings will be held during Township business hours with a few held during the evening. Once all ARPA funds have been earmarked, this committee will be dissolved.
The committee will consist of the Clerk, Treasurer, Supervisor, Nicole Knapp - Deputy Treasurer, Robert Miller - Finance Manager, and two members of the general public. We are looking for two members who would be unbiased and will keep the spirit of the ARPA funding in mind when making recommendations.
To apply for this committee, you will need to submit an application to the Clerk's department.
