Bedford Township Volunteer Fire Department has 2 Districts. District #1 is located on Temperance Road in Temperance and District #2 fronts Dean Road in Lambertville. Each District has approximately 30 men. Bedford Fire Department averages well over 1,000 runs per year. The men also engage in literally hundreds of hours of training in areas such as EMT, First Responder, Firefighter I and II, CPR and Diving Classes.
Our firemen also volunteer many hours of community service in positive role modeling and teaching children in public and private schools about fire safety.
Bedford Township Board contracts with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department to provide deputies to the Township on a full time basis. And the Michigan State Police also continually patrol Bedford. Their watch care quietly reassures residents and provides a safe environment for our families.
We are proud of our firemen and police! They sacrifice their time, leisure and potentially their lives while serving their fellow citizens.
