The Monroe County Drain Commissioner’s Office has developed a procedure to allow the public to report illicit discharges and improper disposal of waste  into storm water systems. Remember, all storm water in Bedford Township drains to Lake Erie!

Examples of illicit discharges include, but are not limited to;

  • Dumping of motor vehicle fluids

  • Household hazardous waste

  • Grass clippings

  • Leaf litter

  • Animal waste

  • Unauthorized discharges of sewage

  • Industrial waste

  • Restaurant waste

or any other non-storm water waste into our storm water drainage system. If you witness any of these illegal activities please call the 24 hour pollution hotline at 734-240-3115 to report illicit discharges in the Monroe County area. All reports will be investigated.
